Rachel Buscall: Founder of New Capital Link Foundation
Rachel Buscall, registered with Companies House under her full name Rachel Ann Buscall, founded New Capital Link in October 2020. As CEO, she sets the strategic direction for the Foundation alongside the firm's core investment business.
Applying investment discipline to charitable giving
Rachel's approach to charitable giving is shaped directly by her background in alternative investments. The same discipline used to assess an investment opportunity, weighing evidence, checking outcomes, avoiding decisions based on good intentions alone, is applied to assessing a charitable one. That means every cause the Foundation backs is researched and evaluated before any commitment is made, and support is judged on whether it achieves a measurable outcome.
Education access in India
Among the causes Rachel has personally championed through the Foundation is an educational access programme in India, funding computers for underprivileged children so a lack of technology doesn't stand between them and the tools their education depends on. It reflects a belief that runs through her wider approach to giving: support works best when it removes a specific, concrete obstacle rather than offering something more general.

From alternative investments to a Foundation
Before founding New Capital Link, Rachel owned and ran a tea room in Chelmsford, Essex, and worked with Bank of Bullion and Bank FX, roles that gave her direct exposure to gold-backed investment products and foreign exchange. She incorporated New Capital Link Limited (Company No. 12948489) in October 2020, and set up its Foundation to apply the same rigour the firm uses to assess investments to choosing and supporting charitable partners.
Neither Rachel nor the rest of the small team handling the Foundation's work take a share of public donations, because the Foundation does not accept them. Every partnership is funded and supported directly by New Capital Link.
