Our Story

About New Capital Link Foundation

We're the charitable arm of New Capital Link, built on a simple belief: the same rigour, research and discipline that guide sound investment decisions can guide charitable giving too. We don't collect public donations — we choose a small number of causes, get close to them, and support them properly.

Why We Exist

Built from a belief, not a brochure

New Capital Link Foundation exists because New Capital Link's success created an opportunity — and a responsibility — to give something back in a way that actually lasts. Rather than setting up a conventional fundraising arm, CEO Rachel Buscall took a different view: that the discipline of evaluating investments, understanding risk and measuring outcomes could be applied just as usefully to charitable work.

That thinking became the Foundation. We research the charities we work with, look closely at their leadership, and build clear metrics before we commit to anything, so we can track whether our involvement is actually making a difference — not just whether a cheque was written.

“We apply the same analytical rigour to our charitable work that guides our investment decisions.”
— Rachel Buscall, CEO, New Capital Link

How We're Different

Not your typical corporate giving programme

Most corporate giving spreads modest sums across many causes. We deliberately do the opposite.

Deep, not wide

We back a small number of causes closely rather than scattering many small donations. Fewer partnerships mean more attention, more resource and more staying power for each one.

Expertise, not just cheques

Alongside funding and essential donations, our people volunteer their time and bring financial planning, operational and strategic skills directly to the causes we support.

Metrics that matter

Before we commit, we research each charity and evaluate its leadership. Then we set clear metrics so we can see, systematically, whether our support is achieving what it set out to.

No public donations

We don't run public appeals or collection tins. Keeping our focus narrow avoids the overhead of fundraising, so the time and resource we do commit go further for the causes we choose.
